With NHS waiting times forever increasing – and even GP appointments getting harder to arrange – Private Medical Insurance – tailored to your staff and their families’ profile and needs – makes an awful lot of sense.
This is a policy, paid for by the company, which benefits every employee. Again, it is a great benefit for attracting and retaining staff. Employees can add their families to the policy.
Many policies come with wellbeing services – talking therapies, earning points for activity, and even organising inter-business challenges.
We will sit down with you to understand your business and how best to protect its ongoing viability and success. We will explain the complete range of options available to you, detailing the pros and cons of every product. The benefit to you is that we can offer every product on the market.
Many brokers will claim to offer ‘whole of market,’ but that may just mean that they offer every kind of product, but that they are all from the same insurer. Independent means that we can offer every kind of product from every insurer.
Sometimes it seems that there are almost as many financial advisors as there are financial products. Why should you choose us. We think there are many reasons of course, but among the most important are the following:
This last is perhaps the most important. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. If we did not give our customers great service, they simply would not return.

Core coverage varies between providers but generally focuses on inpatient and day-patient treatments. Inpatient and Day-Patient Care covers hospital accommodation, nursing care, operating theatres, surgeons, and anaesthetist fees when you are admitted to a hospital bed. Diagnostic Tests covers the costs of specialist scans like MRIs, CT scans, PET scans, and X-rays. Cancer Treatment: many insurers provide comprehensive cancer care, often funding advanced drug therapies and treatments not always readily available on the NHS. Most policies cover organ transplants. Optional Add-ons: depending on your budget, you can pay extra to include outpatient consultations, mental health therapy, private physiotherapy, or routine dental and optical care.
Private medical insurance is not a blanket replacement for all healthcare. Standard exclusions across almost all UK policies include chronic conditions: ongoing, incurable conditions that require long-term management (e.g., diabetes, asthma, or epilepsy) are not covered. PMI only covers acute flare-ups. Exclusions also include pre-existing conditions: Illnesses or symptoms you had before taking out the policy. Also excludes emergency care and cosmetic and lifestyle treatments.
How an insurer evaluates your medical history depends entirely on the type of medical underwriting you choose when buying the policy which can be Moratorium Underwriting (Most Common): you do not list your medical history upfront. The insurer automatically excludes any medical condition you have had in the past 5 years. However, if you go 2 consecutive years completely free of symptoms, treatments, or advice for that condition after the policy starts, it may become covered. Or you can choose Full Medical Underwriting (FMU): you declare your entire medical history via a questionnaire. The insurer explicitly tells you what will be excluded from day one, giving you total clarity over your cover. Or Continued Personal Medical Exclusions (CPME): used when switching insurers, allowing you to roll over your existing exclusions to a new provider without starting the waiting period again.
